ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ಚತುರ್ಭಾಷಾ ತಾರೆಯಾಗಿ ಸುಮಾರು 200 ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿ, ಅಭಿನಯ ಸರಸ್ವತಿ, ‘ಕನ್ನಡತು ಪೈಂಗಿಲಿ’ (ಕನ್ನಡದ ಗಿಳಿ) ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಗಳಿಂದ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮೊದಲ ಸೂಪರ್ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಅಭಿನೇತ್ರಿ ಬಿ. ಸರೋಜಾದೇವಿ.
17ನೇ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಮೊದಲ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸೂಪರ್ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಎಂದೂ ಕರೆದರು. ಸರೋಜಾದೇವಿ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ಮಹಾಕವಿ ಕಾಳಿದಾಸ (1955) ಮೂಲಕ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಅವಕಾಶ ಪಡೆದರು. ಪಾಂಡುರಂಗ ಮಹಾತ್ಯಂ (1957) ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರು ತೆಲುಗು ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಪದಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. 1970ರ ದಶಕದ ಅಂತ್ಯದವರೆಗೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿದರು. ತಮಿಳು ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ನಾಡೋಡಿ ಮನ್ನನ್ (1958) ಅವರನ್ನು ತಮಿಳು ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಅಗ್ರ ನಟಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿತು. 1967ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಮದುವೆಯ ನಂತರ, ಅವರು 1974ರವರೆಗೆ ತಮಿಳು ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯ ನಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಮುಂದುವರೆದರು.
1958ರಿಂದ 1980ರವರೆಗೆ ತೆಲುಗು ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗ್ರ ನಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಮುಂದುವರೆದರು. ಪೈಘಮ್ (1959) ದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ 1960ರ ದಶಕದ ಮಧ್ಯಭಾಗದವರೆಗೆ ಅವರು ಹಿಂದಿ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿದರು.
1955ರಿಂದ 1984ರ ನಡುವಿನ 29ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸತತ 161 ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಯಕಿಯಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸರೋಜಾ ದೇವಿಯವರು 1969ರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ಅತ್ಯುನ್ನತ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಗೌರವವಾದ ಪದ್ಮಶ್ರೀ ಮತ್ತು 1992ರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಪದ್ಮ ಭೂಷಣ, ಮೂರನೇ ಅತ್ಯುನ್ನತ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಗೌರವ ಡಾಕ್ಟರೇಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ತಮಿಳುನಾಡಿನ ಕಲೈಮಾಮಣಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದರು.
ಗಣ್ಯರಿಂದ ಸಂತಾಪ:-
ನಟಿಯ ನಿಧನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಎಂ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯ, ಡಿಸಿಎಂ ಡಿ.ಕೆ.ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್, ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಚಿವ ಎಚ್.ಡಿ.ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರತಿಪಕ್ಷ ನಾಯಕ ಆರ್.ಅಶೋಕ್ ಸಂತಾಪ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
